Originally inspired by the great Landscape Photography masters, I wandered around California and the West for years with my pickup truck and 35mm camera. I was enthralled with wild nature, and how ephemeral moments in wild places could be interpreted on film. Closer to home, I documented my life chasing the surf with friends and discovering empty pools around Los Angeles to skate. All the while, I continued to chase cloud formations and unique geology with my Nikon and whatever film I could find. I went on to work for the National Park Service for 10 years where I connected with many experts on natural and cultural history. After working with the NPS, I began to immerse myself with the natural history of my home and the wilderness beyond. Today, I live in South America with my wife and sons where I continue to seek wild places and wildness.
