Santos

Santos is the most important port in all of South America, and lies just a little over 50 miles (80 km) from the biggest city in South America, my home of São Paulo. Trying to understand everything that is Brazil, is probably not even possible for an outsider, a newcomer like me, so I prefer to try and get to know the city and the country little by little, one day trip, one piece at a time. When I moved here I brought with me some old Agfa Scala black and white slide film. The film expired long ago and this film was discontinued, and there is really no way to process it as slides here in South America today. I took a day trip down to Santos’ historic downtown and shot one of these old rolls of Scala film, and then processed it at home with Kodak D-76 to get traditional black and white negatives.
